Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. This adds flavor from the start.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.

Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.

Add the Sauce: Pour the honey-garlic mixture over the cooked chicken. Stir well to coat the chicken pieces evenly.

Thicken the Sauce: Allow the sauce to simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Stir in the cornstarch mixture, continue to cook for another minute, or until the sauce is thick and glossy.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat. Garnish the dish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles for a complete meal.
