Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 cup beef broth

1 cup sliced mushrooms

2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)

2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, diced onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until ingredients are well incorporated.

Shape the beef mixture into four oval patties.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes until browned.

Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Slowly add the mixed vegetables, stirring well to combine.

In a greased 9x13 baking dish, place the browned hamburger patties side by side. Pour the vegetable and broth mixture evenly over the patties.

Carefully spoon the prepared mashed potatoes over the top of the patties and vegetables, spreading it out evenly.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Once cooked, let the dish rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
