Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

3 tablespoons oyster sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

1 cup broccoli florets

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, finely grated

2 green onions, chopped

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, ginger, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bell pepper is tender but still crisp.

Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for another 3 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.

Return the cooked beef to the skillet and pour in the sesame oil. Toss everything together to combine and heat through. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer a richer flavor, add a little more oyster sauce.

Once well mixed and heated, remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.

Serve hot over jasmine rice for a complete meal.
