Ingredients

1 package of crescent roll dough (8 oz)

8 breakfast sausages (links or mini)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 egg (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: Open the tube of crescent roll dough and unroll it. Separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.

Assemble the Pigs: On each triangle, spread about half a teaspoon of Dijon mustard. Place a breakfast sausage at the wider end of each triangle and sprinkle a little shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wider end, tightly roll the dough around the sausage and cheese, making sure to seal the edges well.

Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of each rolled blanket for a golden finish.

Garnish (Optional): Sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds over the egg wash if desired.

Bake: Place the prepared pigs in a blanket on the baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the sausages are fully cooked.

Serve: Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauce such as ketchup or hot sauce.
