Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)

1 jalapeño, diced (optional, for spiciness)

1/2 cup black beans, rinsed and drained

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Sour cream and salsa (for dipping)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the meat: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the meat is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

Add seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes, and black beans. Mix well and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to combine flavors. Remove from heat.

Prepare the crescent dough: On a clean surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and flatten it into a rectangle, pressing seams together to make one large piece.

Layer the filling: Spread the meat mixture evenly across the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the cheddar and pepper jack cheese evenly on top of the meat mixture.

Roll it up: Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Slice it into 1-inch pieces.

Arrange the sticks: Place the sliced taco sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Garnish: Remove from the oven, sprinkle fresh cilantro on top, and let them cool for a few minutes.

Serve: Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side for dipping.
