Ingredients

1 lb beef flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 medium onion, sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/4 cup beef broth or water

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sugar. Mix well and let marinate for at least 20 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a pot of water to a boil, add the broccoli florets, and cook for 1-2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring to get a good sear, then stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add sesame oil, sliced onion, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients: Add the blanched broccoli back into the skillet, along with the cooked beef. Drizzle in the beef broth (or water) and add red pepper flakes if using. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and combined.

Serve: Transfer the beef and broccoli to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve hot over cooked jasmine rice.
