Ingredients

1 lb chicken sausage, sliced (your choice of flavor)

1 cup orzo pasta

4 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper, diced (any color)

1 cup spinach, chopped

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Chicken Sausage: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Cook the Orzo: Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Stir in the orzo and Italian seasoning. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10-12 minutes or until the orzo is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Add Cream and Spinach: Once the orzo is cooked, stir in the heavy cream and chopped spinach. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the spinach is wilted and the mixture is creamy.

Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked chicken sausage back into the skillet. Stir well to combine. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to taste.

Serve: Spoon the creamy chicken sausage orzo into bowls. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil before serving.
