Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

1 pound breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 green onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional for extra cheesiness)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or parchment paper for baking

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray it with cooking spray.

    In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

      In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, chopped green onion, garlic powder, and shredded cheddar cheese (if using). Mix until well combined and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

        Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and separate it into triangles along the perforations.

          Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wider end of each crescent triangle.

            Roll up each triangle starting from the wide end, rolling towards the pointed end, and place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet seam-side down.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown and flaky.

                Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm as an appetizer or snack!
