Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, sliced thin against the grain

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated steak in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the veggies are just tender but still crisp.

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.

Return the cooked steak to the skillet and toss with the vegetables. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes to heat through and combine the flavors.

Serve the sizzling pepper steak over a bed of cooked rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
