Ingredients

1 large French bread loaf

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced

4 tablespoons olive oil, divided

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Steak: In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced flank steak with salt, pepper, oregano, and chili flakes. Sauté the steak for about 3-5 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove from heat and set aside.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil with minced garlic and a pinch of salt. Mix well to create a garlic oil.

Prepare the Bread: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French loaf in half lengthwise. Brush the garlic oil generously over the cut sides of the bread.

Layer the Ingredients: Evenly distribute the cooked steak over the bread halves. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the steak.

Bake: Place the prepared bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, and sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish. Slice into pieces and serve warm for a delightful appetizer or main dish.
