Ingredients

8 oz uncooked pasta (penne or rotini works best)

1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or spicy, sliced)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

1 cup broccoli florets

1 cup bell peppers (sliced, any color)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Sauté the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced Italian sausage and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, broccoli florets, and bell peppers. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Pour this mixture into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables.

Combine Everything: Add the cooked sausage back to the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss everything together to ensure the pasta, sausage, and vegetables are well coated with the honey garlic sauce. If the mixture seems too thick, add reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.

Serve: Once everything is heated through, taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
