Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

1/4 cup red onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil for grilling

Burger buns, for serving

Optional toppings: avocado slices, tomato, lettuce, and aioli

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, red onion, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Preheat the Grill: Brush the grill with olive oil and preheat it over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

Cook the Burgers: Place the chicken patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and they are golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers: While the patties are cooking, prepare your burger buns by lightly toasting them on the grill, if desired. Once cooked, place a chicken burger patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add your favorite toppings like avocado, tomato, lettuce, and aioli.

Serve: Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
